South Dakota had the last word in the Primary season?  Um She forgot that Montana technically has the last word, since their polls are last.

Tonight, all three speeches will praise Hillary Clinton.

The first 10 minutes don't sound like a concession speech. It sounds like a victory lap, which is odd, considering the whole "Obama wins the nomination" banner on the bottom of the screen...

Never a good thing. But otherwise, a good speech so far....

She is losing me.  I am trying to have some respect for her and extend graces to her for a hard fight, but she is losing me.  She needs to concede.  She lost by the rules.   She needs to say "we fought hard, but Obama won and we support him fully!"  So far she is just saying that she won.  Please concede graciously and unite the party!

Ok, I like that last little bit about the issues. It should remind her supporters that they are fighting for the ideas, not the person...

Her argument seems to be not to rile up bitterness over votes not being counted.  She just suggested that, now, the votes WERE counted because they fought.  I think it's more thanking her supporters for their efforts, and angling for the VP spot.

Jesus, people, chill.  Tonight is a good night to celebrate both candidates.  We all know what the result is.

That's why she keeps repeating her "18 million will disappear" thing.

This is not even remotely concessionary so far. I guess she deserves one last, solid victory speech. But I'm getting nervous that she has no intentions of conceding at all. Not today, and not this month.

I'm reminded of the story in "All the President's Men" where editor Ben Bradlee recalls a story of how he received a leak that J. Edgar Hoover was being forced out as FBI Chief.

He runs the story, then the next day Hoover's appointed for life and a press secretary passes along the message "Tell Ben Bradlee 'F#@#$ you'"

I think the lack of concession tonight is just to make the AP look bad. Which it does.

I wish Hillary Clinton herself could be as gracious in defeat as many of her supporters here have been. (Bobswern - whodathunkit?!?!)

The Denver chant and the woman who screamed, "Can't vote for Obama," worries me, but it's still early in the process.

Judging from all the commentary, I am surprised that the Obama camp didn't hire Arriana Huffington to cross the sky and write 'SUrrender Hillary' in broom smoke.

I'm not among those that somehow "needed" a concession speech, but to use a word someone used upthread, I expected something a little more valedictory.

I suppose there's no good time or place to concede - many of her supporters are going to be pissed when she does (including at her - there was some creeping vitriol in certain quarters today when the news broke about accepting the VP spot).... but it's like a band-aid, I think tonight was probably the best night to rip it off.

Don't get me wrong - she spoke about a lot of important issues, but this is quite likely her last speech (though I assume she gets a primetime convention slot?) that's going to draw such a big audience and get the press it will get.

This speech MANDATES that Hillary will receive the V.P nod.

It wasn't a concession speech.  It was her first speech of the 2012 campaign.  Never too early to get started.  OMG!  Could you imagine?  A perpetual campaign.      

She could have worked in coordination with his campaign to concede and accept the VP if she really wanted it. Selfish.

I am very disappointed in Hillary tonight. If the senior Dems of the Party don't approach her and tell her to unify,  I'm going to switch from Dem to independent. And, I'm going to tell people the switch is because of Hillary.  I can still vote for Obama in the G.E. but I will ditch my Dem party affiliation because of her.  Way to unify Hillary.

His audience was way classier over hers when it came to mentioning the opponent.

She loses points and good will.  

He's a rock star, she's bitter and divisive.
I voted for her in CA, but now I'm sorry I did.  I'm  done with her.

That was the most ego-centric, ungracious speech I have seen from a political figure in my 57 years. She embarrassed all good Democrats tonight.

Hillary has done herself no favors.

She has tried to diminish the actual candidate, Obama, attempted to keep divisions within the party alive, and shown herself to be a selfish, graceless and not very truthful person.

I wonder if she even realizes that this will come back to haunt her in the future as she realizes just how much many in the party are unhappy with her actions.  

Typical of her whole campaign, and one of the big reasons it was a losing one.

Actually, I think We're all Democrats...I haven't had a single discussion on this issue from anyone...I'd be pleasantly suport  the man who is really democratics.
