McCain vs. McCain

Doesn't it sometimes seem as though John McCain is his own worst enemy? I mean, the guy says stuff and you gotta think, does he realize a camera's on? Does he realize he'll be held accountable for saying that? Unfortunately, however, many in the media (aka, McCain's base) don't feel terribly compelled to question McCain's inconsistencies and hypocrisies -- doing their job is hard! Thankfully, Brave New Films has made it a lot easier by putting the most egregious of McCain's reversals all in one place, in their new video, The Real McCain 2, proving once and for all that not only is the Straight Talk Express off the rails, but that it's a complete freakin joke.

Spread this far and wide.

Update [2008-5-19 12:8:17 by Josh Orton]: And the DNC has launched"McCainPedia," a clearinghouse of McCain info that's as useful as it is awkward to say.

I don't want to hear another person talk about they are voting for McCain over Barack or that McCain is better than Barack.  This would be the other side to giving the media so much access.

If we do it right, McCain will lose MI by 20 points... how?

During the Republican primary in MI, he said, "I'm going to give you some straight talk, folks... the old jobs aren't coming back to Michigan."

Whoops!  The day after, his poll numbers tanked and Romney crushed him.  McCain flip flopped to try and recover (saying that he wanted to rebuild detroit automakers), but it was too little too late.

You don't tell a state that has a proud manufacturing history that their jobs, their history, all that they've done will continue to be forgotten and ignored.  McCain basically spit on half of Michigan.

Play that clip in a constant loop in October and McCain is finished in MI.

I think things like this are absolutely devastating for the McCain campaign. More than anything, even if people totally disagree with his stands, he is viewed as a standup, straight-talking kind of guy who means what he says. That is his biggest strength, bar none.

If the Democrats hope to steamroller him in the fall, this is the way to do it.

Greenwald does some of the best work out there.  This is short and to the point.  In the last general election the Republicans were successful painting Kerry as a flip-flopper, time to prove that turn about is fair play. Spread the word, our country can not afford a McCain presidency.
