Tough times for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell:
In 31 months of SurveyUSA tracking, United States Senator from Kentucky Mitch McConnell has had job approval ratings ranging from a low of 48% to a high of 56%. His Net Job Approval, determined by subtracting disapproval from approval, ranged from Plus 4 last month to Plus 24 in June of 2005.This month, for the first time, McConnell has a negative Net Job Approval -- Minus 3. His approval rating is at 44%, the lowest since tracking began in May of 2005, and his disapproval is at an all-time high of47%.

It turns out that McConnell's decision to brag in advertisements about serving as the Senate Republican Leader wasn't such a good one (which isn't terribly suprising given how unpopular the GOP is these days). Either that, or the nearconstantspateofads progressive and Democratic groups have been running against McConnell in his home state of Kentucky have been taking their toll.
And it's not only SurveyUSA that is showing problems for McConnell. Both Research 2000 and Rasmussen Reports have found named Democrats well within striking distance of the Republican Leader, and McConnell unable to crack 50 percent against named Democrats.
If you want to help turn up the heat on McConnell, head over to DraftCrit.com -- which is seeking to get Democratic state Auditor Crit Luallen to run for thte Senate -- to get involved.
