Nov MyDD poll for '08

It's been a while since we had a poll taken on MyDD, let's put one up for the next 24 hours and see what happens with less than 50 days to go:

Leaning Obama

if the election was held today, I would vote for him. But Edwards can easily change my mind if the right things start popping up. Hillary will only have my vote in the general, and Richardson is just a gaffe magnet. Dodd is great, but he has just no traction what-so-ever.

Re: Leaning Obama

And the guy who wrote the Violence Against Women Act and helped end genocide in the Balkans? Biden does have some Iowa traction, he's at least worth a mention. :)

This poll is highly

freeperable.  Every time you go to the home page it's blank again.

Re: This poll is highly

The vote total remains the same, though, so only your first vote counts.

Oh, ok, thanks. :)

Re: Nov MyDD poll for '08

I still think Edwards is the best candidate we could nominate.  I appreciate his supportive bloggers here, who remind us that there's a lot more to his campaign than the negative attacks the media loves to emphasize.

It's very hard to run a positive campaign when the media shows no interest in reporting anything you say unless you're starting a fight with someone.

As usual

Edwards. Though I would like to make a point; the conversation here makes it seem like Hillary supporters dominate the blog and Obamaniacs are non-existent. Perhaps maybe Obama and Edwards people should speak up more?

Obama supporters have mostly moved to DKos

Many of us gave up arguing with the Clinton folks here... Some of them are pretty overwhelmingly caustic.

Re: Obama supporters have mostly moved to DKos

Tell me about it.  At least I can have a polite, substantive conversation with Obama supporters (I'm backing Edwards).  That is much appreciated.

I voted for edwards

but I am impressed by Obama as well.

Re: I voted for edwards

Yeah He and Edwards are neck and neck with Hillary WAY WAY behind in third... Guess all of us saying that the Hillary supporters were a very vocal minor minority on MyDD were right!

Re: Nov MyDD poll for '08

Republican politics of personal destruction work- The Democrats who are using it against their own are being rewarded and encouraged by the very people who should be most wary-the netroots who saw what happened to Howard Dean.  What will it take to make people care more about who can best make the changes necessary than about who tipped a waitress?  It is an embarrassment that a Republican phrase-"flip flopper" has been used against one of our own- shame-shame- I thought we could rise above it but obviously we learned a lot of bad lessons from them and not the good. The ends justify the means for some in this campaign- and the ends are their ends not the American people.

Re: Nov MyDD poll for '08

You would not say this if it was used against Obama OR EDWARDS.

Public Financing Deal Breaker

I'm very concerned about Edwards' ability to withstand a six month Republican smear campaign if he can't raise any money until after the conventions.  Can someone please calm my nerves?

Re: Public Financing Deal Breaker

I can calm your nerves:

He ain't gonna win the primary, so no worries for the general.

by jgarcia 2007-11-14 08:12AM | 0 recs
You're wrong. The question is not going to be

whether he wins the primaries. I just don't see people on a large risking two "firsts" when things are this so bad and so many of them are desperate. My biggest worry with Edwards in the primary is him getting to election in one piece. He is challenging some powerful interests.

by cosbo 2007-11-14 08:24AM | 0 recs
What are they going to attack him with?

Hair? Try to keep in mind that Edwards have won in a red state before running against a big political machine. He'll be fine. And secondly, I seriously doubt that the repugs are going to have more money than the Dems. What democrats should actually worry about is how exactly are the republicans plotting to steal the next election? And who can beat them in hard battleground states. Keep on on the ball...general election & which candidate can put the most states at play thereby weakening the rethugs monetarily and strategically.

Focus on the GE. And keep in mind that when it came right down to it, Gore won & so did Kerry. We can have those kinds of tight margins again.

Re: Nov MyDD poll for '08

Edwards is self destructing- When the Republicans get a hold of his records- the fact that he has done a complete 180 since the 2004 campaign- building a 28,000 sq foot house (while talking about conservation and the environment)  - using personal destruction techniques to raise himself -whatever sticks-even if it's someone on your own team- Trial lawyer-smooth talker who can take either side of an argument- A cosponsor of the Iraq amendment who counseled Kerry in 2004 not to admit it was a mistake because they "would look weak"  This is a man who has not had a real job in a few years- he has been running non stop for President- standing in picket lines- doing "charitable" works (something he never did in his lifetime before running for office-check out his bio) As his only job he is in distant third except in Iowa-what does that say about his ability to win?

Re: Nov MyDD poll for '08

You mean, if John Edwards is the Democratic nominee, the Republicans will campaign against him? You should tell somebody!

Re: Nov MyDD poll for '08

Hillary is still not making much progress on the MYDD poll. Despite all of the diaries and blogging by her supporter's on this site.

It appears Obama has made progress and is within a point of Edwards

Re: Nov MyDD poll for '08
I did not support Edwards in '04 but I do now. Why? Because he has thrown away what his previous advisors [read DLC] had told him. He has become the progressive candidate I wanted.
As for his previous record in the senate I'm willing to look away from it and trust the candidate I hear speaking now; just like Republicans who forgave Reagan for being a union leader and a Democrat and supported him.

I'm in the same place, bmelz.  Kucinich '04, Edwards Unleashed '08!

I'm sad that we're back to pick-one polling. The poll should be like this:

Re: Nov MyDD poll for '08

My vote is for Clinton but I don't think it registered correctly. Would the screen have changed or taken me to the results if it had? I just can't tell if it was an error or browswer conflict- Mac OSX / Firefox, usually no problems with anything- but Flash can be a pain.

by bluemoon 2007-11-14 10:25AM | 0 recs
ok it counted

I tried again, it took a long time to load but wanted to update affirmatively that it took my choice.

Re: Nov MyDD poll for '08
Hmmm..I have seen postings discounting polls at Kos with Edwards winning... and here also..
Maybe,;just maybe folks that are active in such places are true progressives and see Edwards an an electable progressive?
