Lieberman's Friends

So apparently Lieberman's ground game will be coordinated by some interesting groups.

Sherry Brown, who took over as Mr. Lieberman's campaign manager last month, said her team needed new ways to identify and mobilize voters beyond using the traditional lists of registered voters that the parties use to plan turnout strategy. The citizen committees are one idea; she also said the senator would rely more than usual on assistance from unions, environmentalists and other groups that have endorsed him, such as the Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber of Commerce?  Wow.  I suppose this is the same group that wants to gut the Family Medical Leave Act and overtime pay, opposes a minimum wage increase, lobbied for the Bankruptcy Bill, supports Health Savings Accounts (otherwise known as the end of health insurance), and my personal favorite, denies global warming. This is from their site, 'Straight Talk About Climate Change'.

Just as CO2 emissions caps loom, debate rages on about climate change. Is global warming occurring? A new Harvard study says no. Will CO2 emissions caps in the U.S. decrease global emissions? Probably not, if developing countries continue to increase emissions.

Ah, friendship.

Re: Lieberman's Friends

Well will the unions still turn out voters for Lieberman?  I thought they only endorsed him for the primary.

I really hope HRC doesnt hold their endorsement either...

Re: Lieberman's Friends

I guess.  Al Gore's strategy, though, was to first establish that climate change is real, and only after that part is done, go on to talk about solutions.  I think he would disagree with you as to whether the first part of the battle has been won just yet.

Lamont

Look, I like all this info about Lieberman, but I want to know what the hell Lamont is going to do. He has made a few press releases, but I haven't seen him at all in the press or on the air, and he is now double-digits behind Lieberman. I've asked before and I'll ask again, what is Lamont going to do in the next 6 weeks to win the general election?

Re:Lamont

Ok, correction. Just heard the radio ads. Nonetheless, I don't think this is nearly as much as he should be doing. Radio is no where near as powerful as television and political talk shows. What is Ned going to be doing in that realm?
