CT-Sen: Even Lieberman's Rallies Remind You Of Bush

Remember all those Bush campaign (and other) events where people were thrown out for wearing the wrong type of t-shirts, and other ridiculous things? Well, now Lieberman is following the same tactics, as CT blogger Spazeboy writes:I was about 10 yards behind Jane, and had just gotten to the door when I was told that no backpacks were allowed in the theater. I could see Jane showing her ticket and presumed that she'd save me a seat, so I bolted to my car to drop off my bag. When I came back but a minute later, a familiar face was waiting for me. It was the Lieberman staffer who exuded so much confidence about Lieberman's ability to change minds in New Britain when speaking at the DTC meeting in June who reached out and ripped the ticket from my hand.

It's one thing to tell me I'm not welcome, it's quite another to actually steal something from me. I insisted on getting the ticket back, but I had walked right into a childish game of "keep-away". I was no longer in front of the Palace Theater in Waterbury, Connecticut but rather standing on the playground at "Connecticut for Lieberman" elementary. I was ready to go play tetherball or four-square when back-up arrived-for the Lieberman staffer.

It was someone a little higher up on the Lieberman food-chain (I can tell this because he didn't steal anything from me) who came over with a police officer and said this about me:

"Officer, he's a known protester" Lieberman's campaign is afraid of people. They are afraid of volunteer bloggers, so they kick them out of events. They are afraid of Democrats, so they file petitions to run as independents. They are afraid of voters, as his supporters call elections "purges" and other such aristocratic nonsense. They line up as much institutional support as any Senate candidate I have ever seen, and hope that support along with the help of the elitist national punditry, will be enough to make the people go away. Again, could this remind you any more of Bush? However, by all indications, this time the establishment and the elitists will not have enough strength, and on August 8th the people will have their day.

Also, Connecticut Bob managed to get some good video and questions in at the Boxer event from last week.

Fascism is here...

and no, I don't wanna hear any bloviating bullshit about how those who are fighting to get rid of 'Rape Gurney' Joe are ant-Semites.

That is a lie and a scurrilous one to boot.

Holy wow

"Officer, he's a known protester"

That's so amazingly Orwellian. It's a perfect comment delivered from space aliens wrapped in foil and tinsel and magic chocolate sprinkles.

It's not just stealing - it's robbery, a felony

in most jurisdictions, irrespective of value stolen. Of course, it's all academic if the police are complacent, or in cahoots, which they usually are. I wonder if anyone has ever sued a candidate for the conduct of their security. I think it would make a very interesting case suing a candidate in his personal capacity for battery committed by his staff.

Now Joe Really Has Problems

If he's afraid to fight his own detractors in his own party...he's already lost. All the 2008 hopefuls must be riveted by this...

Those in CT who would like to make a quick buck might consider printing shirts that say "Known Protestor" on the front and "Defeat Zell Lieberman" on the back.

Unbelievable.

Re: CT-Sen: Even Lieberman's Rallies Remind You Of

You know what Chris, you stated that Lieberman is afraid of volunteer bloggers.  I have the distinct feeling it is not just Lieberman who does not like bloggers...present company excluded.
