Howard Dean Will Support the Eventual CT Democratic Nominee

I was at an American Prospect breakfast with Howard Dean, and he said among other things that the DNC won't be involved in the Connecticut primary. However, he went out of his way to single out Joe Lieberman for being an 'outlier' on national security, and he did say that the DNC will support the eventual Democratic nominee. You hear what I'm saying? If Joe goes Indy, he's losing major backing.

Now if someone would only ask the Connecticut Democratic Party and all those officials who have endorsed Lieberman...

The CT Democratic Party will continue to support Joe Lieberman until the Convention on May 20th. Once the leadership sees how all the town committees have moved away from them they might just be worried about their own jobs...

Symtom of the disease.

The DNC can't get involved in getting rid of lieberman but the D's party apparatchek can recruit, manage and finance a sock puppet whose only quality seems to be her willingness ( duckworth) to "just obey orders, no matter how vile or criminial, to take out a grassroots candinate in Illinois ( Cegelis).
The party can't get involved supporting a real D in Connecticut but they can clear a path for rethuglican lite in Penn. who would have voted for Scalito and Roberts and would support nuking Iran ( Casey).
The party has to remain nuetral in a primary challenge but welcome a member of addled rons criminial administration as a senatorial candinate in Virginia. A mans whose judgement is so feeble that he still thinks the addled one was a good president no matter near national bankruptcy or subverting the constitution.

You wonder why the D's can't motivate thier base? It's because they conspiciously and repeatedly sell out thier base so a to become a more polite version of the rethuglicans.

Look at the Hamilton Project of the DLC. If the D's get a congressional majority will the agenda be Living Wages, Universal Health Care, Environmental protection and reclamation? No it will be "fixing" Social Security ( privatization) further "Globalization" ( exporting jobs) more Welfare "Reform" ( your on your own).

This is why the D's can't motivate thier base because they have, and continue, to sell them out to become a shadow of the rethuglicans but with a smile when they slip the knife in the back of the country rather then the sneer of Delay.

Dump your anti-choice, anti-labor, pro murder leadership of Ried and make Bernie Sanders the majority leader when he gets in the Senate and you will see your base light up and work beyond your wildest dreams. Continue to a fifth column for the thugs and we will stay home.
It's the party's choice. Don't call us we will see what the party choses.

The DNC,DSCC,and DCCC Job is not to promote an ideology/message. That is up to Candidates running for Office.
The DNC job is to rebuild the National Democratic Party at the State level- Making sure Democrats can compete in Red States
during Future Presidential,Senate,Gubenatorial and House Race.
The DSCC is focused on Helping Democrats regain Control of the US Senate.
The DCCC is focused on Helping Democrats regain Control of the US House.
The DSCC or DCCC support Incumbent Democratic House and Senate Candidates running for re-election. Regarding Challengers. The DSCC and DCCC supports challengers that have raised the most money.

For Liberal Bloggers Bitching about Lieberman.
Isn't Lieberman endorsed by the Connecticut Democratic Party.

We supported Casey because he is the strongest candidate to defeat Santorum. Every Public Opinion Poll shows Casey defeating Santorum by a double digit margin. Casey has won three statewide election. The Casey name is popular in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania consist of Philidelphia,Pittsburgh and Penntucky-Central Part of Pennsylvania. The so called Liberal Democrats like Sandals and Pennachio will have tough time winning in Pittsburgh or in Central Pennsylvania.

If the DCCC was interested in regaining control of the House they would have supported Cegelis instead of using our money to find a sock puppet to torpedo her.
Cegelis had a chance to win IL 06 in the general. duckworth will lose.
So your statement as to what the DCCC is about is proven a lie right out of the box.
As for casey well then why not support taft in Ohio he is well known with a family history? Couldn't afford to pay his price?
Casey is a rethuglican lite who still lies about why his father didn't speak during the 92 convention it wasn't about his anti-choice position it was his refusal to endorse the ticket. As for being a sure winner wasn't that the reason people supported Zell Miller and gee didn't that work out well.
By the way last survey I saw shows that when people realize that casey's positions on choice, war and theocracy isn't much different then ricky boy his margin just about disappears. Wasn't the idea of "electability" why Kerry got the nomination. Just shows how effective that arguement is when push comes to shove. Also if casey is going to stab the d's in the back every chance he gets.
To win more then once the D's have to show themselves as capable and deliver on an agenda. If you have quislings working as hard as possible to sow discordance and confusion inside the D's caucauses they will look inept and incompetent. This will speed the return of the thugs.
Just as the Senate D's who helped to torpedo Clintons health care plan and the rest of his agenda in 91 and 92 helped to deliver the Senate to the thugs so will people like casey, webb and lieberman make the d's look bad again and help consign this country to another 10 years of thuggery all in the name of "electability".

Rather a tough time and an honest win with people we trust who are D's and will support a progressive agenda rather then an easy win with rethuglican lites who will do all in thier power to torpedo any progressive movement.

The Illinios 6th Congressional District is a Republican Leaning District. Cegelis managed to get 44% because it was a Presidential Election Year and Barack Obama was on the ballot in 2004.
In 2006- The Illinios 6th Congressional District is an open Seat Election. It is taking place during an off year election. The 2006 Illinios Governor's Race is very competitive. Rod Blagejovich is less popular than Barack Obama. Blagejovich will not be able to help Democrats in lower offices. Cegelis would have not gotten more than 45% of the popular vote if she was lucky. Regarding Duckworth I have no idea how she would have performed.
You are a douchebag to compare Casey with Taft.
Bob Taft was involved in scandals, Coingate. Their is no scandals that occured in Casey's watch while serving as State Auditor or Treasurer. Casey's father was and still is a beloved figure among Pennsylvania voters.
Kerry did not get the nomination because he was electable. He got the nomination because he was the safest choice. He was more experience than Edwards, He was more progessive than Dick Gephardt, He was more electable than Howard Dean. Wesley Clark did not compete in Iowa.

Regarding comparing Bob Casey with Zell Miller. No rational person can compare Bob Casey with Zell Miller. Casey will never endorse a Republican Candidate for President or other statewide office. Casey will never speak at a Republican convention.

What liberal bloggers failed to mention is that
Joe Lieberman to ran unsuccessfully for President against George Bush in 2004. When Bush was somewhat popular due to the aftermath of 9-11 attacks. The War in Iraq prior to the 2004 elections were popular. Despite Lieberman's strong support for the War. Lieberman ran to unsucceed Bush in 2004.
Lieberman is Conservative on Homeland and Global Security issues. So is Scoop Jackson. However Lieberman is a Democrat on Domestic Such as the Ecomony,Education,Health Care,and the Environment.

Dump Joe

Joe is no more a centrist Democrat than Benedict Arnold was an American Revolutionary War Hero.

There should be some penalty for abandoning party discipline and supporting the Republicans on Fox TV, wildly cheering the President, opposing abortion rights, opposing equal rights for gays and lesbians, supporting an immoral war, etc etc etc.

Goodbye Joementum. You aren't one of us. We don't want you. You love the Republicans and their anti-American ideology. Go join them. Good riddance.
