Karl Rove Controls the Republican Party

This quote is floating around:

"Congressional sources said Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove has threatened to blacklist any Republican who votes against the president.  The sources said the blacklist would mean a halt in any White House political or financial support of senators running for re-election in November...."

Republican leaders are not independent actors, they are servants of a political machine.  The Eunuch Caucus won't place checks on anything, and is willing to take marching orders from the White House and allow New Orleans.  I see a lot of jokes on the right about how crazy liberals think that Karl Rove gives them orders.  The joke would be funnier if it weren't so obviously true.

Rove & McCain

I commented on this in an earlier post, but I have a hunch Rove was behind McCain's smear attack on Sen. Obama yesterday.

See my full comment here.

To sum up, this is part of Rove's attempt to paint the Democrats as partisan on corruption, thus trying to neutrelize the issue for November.

Yes, Rove is the master of the Republican party.

Re: Rove & McCain

If true, and I don't doubt it, McCain is the biggest tool.  This guy acts tough but really is nothing more than a pathetic lackey.

Re: Karl Rove Controls the Republican Party

In the spirit of Josh Marshall, should we all (who have Republican Senators) call their offices to ask if this is true that they will not vote against the President on any issue?

MyDD and Joe

Hmmm, it seems to me that a certain Senator from CT has received the same type of treatment from this very blog for daring to disagree. Yeah, looking down the list of topics on the main page, there is another one about how to get rid of him. Interesting...

Re: Karl Rove Controls the Republican Party

I read the actual post but am puzzled when Rove demanded Republicans vote with Bush.

Vote for what...? As near as I could from listening to the hearings, the only vote was whether or not to swear the attorney general in.

Re: Karl Rove Controls the Republican Party

I think the most significant part of this is the admission of the existance of a  'blacklist'. Who is on it? Whom has it, or the threat of it, affected? And the last question everyone wants to know, how can I get on it?

Re: Karl Rove Controls the Republican Party

Rove is trying to make ALL Republican's answerable to himself.  He is running everything anyway from the White House.  I don't think that any of them thought the information would be made public.  I have written to all members of the Judicary Committe, both sides, and put a copy of the article about Rove in it.  Then I asked...are you an independent thinker, voter?  OR...are your hands and lives tied to Rove and the White House and you MUST vote the way they want?  I told them that we knew what they were doing and would hold them responsible come November.  Hey, call a Spade a Spade!!  The questions I have is...Why are the Democrats not making a big deal out of this??  Is this another of those missed opportunities??  It is not too late..time to stand up and use their voices.  They will never take back the house without making a stand!!  My cry is..FIGHT BACK!
