Anyone hear about Tester yet?

They had all this stuff they were writing about, state leg races, etc., including the analysis that said Carol Shea-Porter was going to win.  And then someone stepped in and wrote (paraphrase) "well, you know, all this analysis is fine, but she's like 5,000 votes behind," or whatever.  But the thing was, the analysis was so fine-grained, that I said to myself, "I'd rather have that analysis going for us, and wait for the gap to close than be in the GOP's shoes."

And, sure enough....

A big "thank you!" to whoever tossed out the link that got me there.

NH went blue in 2004 when it elected a moderate Dem gov (John Lynch) and went for Kerry. I voted for the first time this year for Paul Hodes (and helped to re-elect Lynch) from the NH-02 district. Obviously when we won (and NH-01 unexpectedly went blue despite the Dem being behind by 10 pts in the most recent pre-election polls), it felt amazing. If this is what participating in democracy is like, I can't wait until 2008!

For some reason, I initially read that to say, "Yea right, enjoy the next 95 years in the minority, assholes."

Well, my bad.

Moderate Republicans are really a dying breed after tonight.  Not sure the Repubs will get the message and instead of mellowing their stance, might turn harder to the right.  Especially if the Club for Growth has anything to say about it.

Looks like the NE's and Mid-Atlantic's experiment with Republicans is over.  Even Leach lost in IA-02.

CNN pulled the Yellowstone county's results from their site, butting it back down to 0% precincts reporting.  Something seems fishy in MT.  Burns has gained nearly 8,000 votes with just a handful of precincts recently.

Could the GOP by altering the count to retain their majority?

couldn't Sen. Sununu have been up for reelection tonight!?!?! ;)

What's going on in MT?  I'm still trying to figure it out.

Illinois is the same way... We took over the last bastion of the GOP in State Government with Alex G.  winning the treasury and all incumbents winning.  I hated voting for Blago, but I like Pat Quinn so I forced my self too instead of Whitney.  Good to see he got over 5%.  

Webb is up by 8K with 6 precincts left.

I wish Shays could have been taken out, but at least in CT the Dems seem to have taken a Supermajority in the legislature!

I lived in NH from 1989-1993. I loved it. And the politics are, um, unique. :-)

I am thrilled with the results, especially the huge wave in the NH house. Did I read correctly that we now have a 29-6 advantage or something?

Anyway, even after 15 years, I still think Jean Shaheen is one of the best politicians I've ever seen or heard. I left NH right before she became governor. I would love to see her in the Senate. She would be fantastic.
