Debate Clip

This is a poor quality clip from the debate.  You can see that Ned's gotten much better.  Also, before I go into specifics in my next post, the big substantive news is that Joe Lieberman again called for regime change in Iran.

Ned! Look at the camera!

Re: Debate Clip

Um, he seems to be looking at the camera for most of his camera time.

Re: Debate Clip

That was a great close by Ned.  He might just pull this one out.

Re: Debate Clip

Judging by the onstage positioning during the first two debates, it looks like Lamont should be centerstage for the final debate, and Lieberman will be on the  <ahem>  right.

Re: Debate Clip

Only complaint is that he keeps looking at something off-camera. Not sure if this is Bob Schieffer or what, but honestly its not that big of a deal. No one else is going with Lieberman at this point, because if you don't already like him, these performances aren't going to make him look any better. The only people who are gonna get more votes are Lamont and Schlesinger, with the latter probably getting more since up to this point he has had NO media exposure or attention. This is looking good, and depending on what the next post-debate poll says (I have heard Quinnipac is coming out with one done BEFORE the debate, so just disregard it), we might just pull this one off.

Re: Debate Clip

Good closing statement--could have been delivered better, but he really hit the key points.

Re: Debate Clip

I dunno, I'm astounded by his presentation. It would be the very rare politician who could deliver that closing better, on the level of Clinton or Reagan, I should think. Most would do much worse.

This trial by fire ought to make for a very potent progressive Senator.

Re: Debate Clip

You have to respect a guy who has so far, spent $11 million of his own money to stand up for something he believes in.  To me, the fact that he isn't a polished public speaker or debater is far outweighed by my sense of gratitude.

Re: Debate Clip

Is that how much he spent from his pocket so far? Damn... for a job that pays $160K. Must be nice not to have to worry about money.
