MyDD Polling Project: Can you top this thing off?

Donate to the MyDD Polling Project

Wow! You guys really came through over the last two days.

As of early this morning, you guys raised $16,350.99 for the poll from 388 donors.

The poll has already been in the field for two days, and there will be another five or six days when it is in the field in order to complete all of the interviews. Once the polling and the analysis of the poll is done, we will begin to release the results, starting sometime early or mid-next week.

The poll is set to cost anywhere from the high $14,000's to the low $15,000's, depending on how many polling calls are needed to complete the sample. We also needed a few hundred for administrative costs, such as money transfer fees and potential refunds. We are also looking to gather another few hundred dollars in order to promote the poll, and give in the media attention it deserves.

With all of that in mind, we are setting a final target of $17,000. That amount will guarantee that will have enough money for the poll to be done well and promoted well. I should also mention that no one is making money on this. None of us here on MyDD are making money. We are going to get the analysis of the poll on a great discount.

We are well within site of our final goal. If we can get just 15 or 16 more contributors, we will have it. Any extra money we receive will be reserved for future polls we will conduct.

So please, help top us off. You guys have been great, and this is a really important project. Let's get to the point where we can stop asking for money, and start talking about results.

Great
Great job Chris:

I'm tapped out right now, but I think folks will come through for you.

Will the results be ready for public consumption my Tuesday night for Drinking Liberally;  that might be a fun place to unveil them, especially if you do some PR for it.

Damn this is a great great thing youve done

This is a great thing: we're running our own polls.

This won't only help publicize our positions (i.e. get that Impeachment question accurately out) but...

It gives us RAW information.  Information is power.

The question
Chris:

Correct me if im wrong, but i dont think we ever got to see the final questions after the third round of comments. Are they being withheld for some reason?

Re: The question
yes, see this post from Sun Tzu about why:

http://www.mydd.com/story/2006/1/13/16173/7149

Just so you know, I specifically asked Chris last night not to post the actual interview at this point in time and he agreed. We'll post it later, with national numbers, after field is complete. My reasoning is there are real, actual Bad Dogs out there who might grab it, run it and try to undermine our efforts. Security precaution, you see, based on a lot of years' experience. And I firmly believe you all will certainly understand. As I said to him: "They definitely have the dough to do it." You bet they do.

So I'll talk you through it a bit. The interview itself is very slick, clean and we've designed some real sly research concepts into it. We are actually testing an hypothesis: the more people know about Dubya's operations/actions, the less likely they are to approve of him. We'll see if the data support that hypothesis. If so, watch out...because it will mean effective, and truthful, communications can drive their train off the track. Hello, Traditional Media and DC. Can you hear us now?

Great idea
I'm really looking forward to seeing the results of this.  It will be interesting how much it will differ from the MSM polls we see.
