The Right Wing Reveals Itself Yet Again

Having learned absolutely nothing from the damage caused by chanting "hey-hey, ho-ho, Social Security has got to go," outside of a Santorum event on Social Security, as I type this Republicans are now chanting "We don't care" to Cindy Sheehan.

A few million people heard the Social Security chant, which Tim Tagaris caught on tape. Everyone will hear this one (Tim isn't the only with a camcorder this time). I wonder if Red State will repudiate them. You can read more about this here.

Update:And now they are gone. Strange. 30 mins of offensive chanting and they leave. If it was done for a photo-op, I think they need to work on their tactics. The photo-op won't be the one they were looking for.

"We don't care"
They don't care about Ms. Sheehan or her loss because their kids don't go off to fight the wars because they need a job or aid for college. This war isn't bringing our country together or making us safer. It is tearing us apart and weakening our military. I shouldn't be shocked, but I sure am saddened by the callousness of some of the chickenhawks.

Re: "We don't care"
The war is being run so that only a small number of Americans are bearing nearly the entire burden of the war, while others are profiting from it.

Most of us are paying for it in other ways, such as with inflation, massive deficits, etc.

This war is run in a way to divide the nation as much as possible. The poor die while the wealthy profit from it. The old mortgage the war while the young will pay for it.

Re: "We don't care"
Actually, one way I'd like to see Bush reform his Iraq policy is repeal all his tax cuts and ask every American not serving in his war to shoulder the burder of paying for it with their wallet.

He keeps saying we're in a time of war, have patience, this takes sacrifice. Yet he thinks so little of the American people that he doesn't even ask them to cope with higher taxes so we could actually afford better equipment and pay for these troops and their families. Mark Shields wrote about that this week. It's a disgrace.

Unspeakable disgust
Even if, for the sake of argument, you disagree with Sheehan's belief that the war is unjust you still have to honor the sacrifice she, her son and her family made for this country. Chanting "we don't care" is beyond the pale...

Mike Gallagher: attacking Cindy
It is Mike Gallagher who is leading the protest against against Cindy Sheehan. According to his bio, he and his wife have 4 kids Bryan, Trevor, Matthew, and Micah are grown and "either in college or working."  http://www.mikeonline.com/pg/jsp/general/bio.jsp
His website sponsored a pro-America bus trip to Crawford, Texas.  http://www.mikeonline.com/site
Can someone post this at Cindy's site so they can see what they're dealing with?
If he is so pro-war, why didn't he convince his 4 sons to enlist and go to Iraq?

Re: Mike Gallagher: attacking Cindy
Because they have shunned Operation Yellow Elephant and would rather have others die for their beliefs.

hey, looks like a great way to get a free ride...
Get a free ride from that prick. Once you get there, in front of both sides, say loudly, that you are crossing over to Cindy's side!

But don't plan on getting a ride back!

Love is such a fundamental force
For example, here we are on a friday night,
talking to each other. Maybe its an expression of
love. Maybe Sheehans love for her country drives
her to be out there camped on Bush's doorstep.

Maybe its her love for the white hot spotlight.
Maybe she feels she can change something.

But in the end, the people who insulted her.
These people are playing backgammon against us
and we have 4 of the six bar points covered...
we need to bump them onto the bar
and double.

"We Don't Care"
I hear that Ken Mehlman is interested in using this as the new RNC motto.

People who insult Mrs. Sheehan are cowards.
I was working up to the most recent diary, and I posted the following.  Forgive me, but I just wanted to add my two cents here as well:

I am a veteran.

What if I was killed in the desert?  What if my mom took the same road that Cindy Sheehan has taken?

Well, we know what the republican noise machine would say and do to my mom.

This makes me sick, and I am not the only veteran who is mad about such behavior.  Funny, in 2004 the republicans always cried, "Well, if you say.....then you are not supporting our troops."

So how on Earth can insulting a mother of a KIA veteran be supporting the troops?

People who insult Mrs. Sheehan are cowards.

Everytime someone insults her, or any other parent of a wounded or KIA marine/sailor/soldier/airman, he or she should be labeled a coward.

Cold, weak, desperate coward.

Re: People who insult Mrs. Sheehan are cowards.
I am a veteran from the Iraq war. I fought in Sadr City on the day that Casey was killed. I am completely and utterly disgusted at the dirty tricks. They are cowards who only attack the little guy. They never go after the wrongdoers who have any power ( greedy corporations, etc.). That Americasn don't reject the dirty tricks is a complete dishonor  to the dead and their families shows you how low we have sunk.

Re: People who insult Mrs. Sheehan are cowards.
At the least that bungling moron Rumsfeld needs to be fired. Fighting wars on small and on the cheap is ridiculous.

I hate
their love of this war of choice.

Fantastic.
Maybe it took them half an hour to realize that only a bunch of idiots would go to all the trouble of getting there, if they didn't care.

They Don't Care
They don't care because they are sitting here having fun while others are fighting this war. They don't care because their loved ones haven't given the ultimate sacrifice. Glad to see the ridiculous-right likes to show their true colors.

GO CINDY!!!!

Re: Slightly off topic but,
Why don't you start your own Diary on this.

It may be an important issue for all participants to review.

I know I have some thoughts on this, but it may be rude to deviate from this Diary.
