Fly, Eagles Fly!

I am off to a Superbowl party, which I believe in Philadelphia is required by law. As a lifelong Bills fan, this is the first time I am cheering for the NFC team in about twenty years. However, with Syracuse's own Donovan McNabb representing my own beloved city, I do so with joy and not a drop of reservation.

For those of you who will not be watching the Superbowl, or who would like a break form it, I will be on the Laura Flanders show at around 7:20 pm to talk about sports and politics. Whether you want to talk about football or not, you can use this as an open thread.

My prediction: Eagles 34, Patriots 23.

Syracuse and McNabb and a reform Democrat...  Bless you, my son.. I hope you were watching SU's great comeback win over Notre Dame last night - good stuff.  But anyway, go Eagles (or rather, go McNabb) since my J-E-T-S are gone.

Is the main reason I like the Eagles, being from Syracuse, although I am in Philly for College - so it all works out.

I thought it was tough to judge him tonight. Moments of real brilliance that kept us alive, and a couple good foulups that knock us down. Very uneven.

Still, though, I think the best point is one my friend made: "With Belichek and a few decent guys, the Pats will be unbeatable."

We need a Bill Belicheck of politics to help whip the Dems into shape.
