Cobb Wins Green Party Nomination

Cobb wins. It is official. The Nader threat to Kerry is over, as Nader will be on the ballot in less than 15 states now. The Green party itself will be weakened, but a "no nominee" or Nader endorsement would have destroyed it. More on this later.

First round voting, from Green in Brooklyn

David Cobb 308.0
Peter Camejo 118.5
Ralph Nader 117.5
No Nominee 74.5
Lorna Salzman 40.0
None of the Above 35.5
Kent Mesplay 23.5
Jo Anne Beemon 14.0
Carol Miller 9.5
Dennis Kucinich 8.0
uncommitted 6.5
Paul Glover 5.5
Dr Johnathan Farley 3.0
Sheila Bilyeu 2.0
Eugene Debs 1.0
Total 767.0
Needed to win 384.0
The second round of voting, from New Spark Media:
Cobb 408
No Nominee 308
Kent Mesplay 43
There apparently were a few abstnetions, but not enough to deny Cobb a true majority.

Re: Is it on C-span?
Unfortunately no. They will have the victory press conference and rally on C-SPAN, but not the floor vote.

Re: irony
Truly--You must abstain from voting in order to vote as an abstention.
